Something good for Saturday - Mamie Eisenhower Fudge


Mamie Eisenhower Fudge



4 1/2  cups    Sugar
2        T        Butter
1        can      Evaporated milk
1        pinch   Salt
12  oz      Semi-sweet chocolate chips
12  oz      German sweet chocolate
1    pint   Marshmallow cream
2    cups   Nuts, chopped
Procedure
1   Grease pan.
2   In large bowl, combine:  semi-sweet chocolate chips, German sweet chocolate (broken into small pieces), and marshmallow crème.
3   Put sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in large, heavy saucepan.
4   Stir to blend.
5   Bring to full boil over medium-high heat.
6   Boil for 6 minutes.
7   Pour boiling syrup over chocolates and marshmallow crème, stirring quickly to melt chocolate and blend all ingredients.
8   Beat until mixture begins to lose it's gloss.
9   Stir in nuts.
10 Pour into pan.
11 Spreading to edges with back of spoon.
12 Cool for several hours before cutting into squares.
13 Store in air-tight container.
Yield: 9" x 13"
