Something Yummy for Saturday





There are all kinds of Goulash recipes.  This is the one my grandmother used and it looks simple and easy to make.  It certainly was delicious.

Goulash

1        large   Onion, chopped
2        Tbs    Butter
1 1/2  lbs     Ground beef
1        can     Red kidney beans
1  large can   Tomatoes, tomato sauce may be used
8  oz. pkg.    Spaghetti noodles, cooked
                   Salt
                   Pepper
Procedure
1   Preheat oven to 350°.
2   Cook onion in butter until tender (do not brown).
3   Add the beef and cook slowly until done.
4   Add the tomatoes or tomato sauce and kidney beans.
5   Spread spaghetti noodles in  pan.
6   Cover with ground beef mixture and stir carefully.
7   Bake.
Yield: 9" x 13"
Oven Temperature: 350°F
Cooking Time: 1 hour

now this is the sort of recipe I like most - filling comforting and hearty for a cold evening. It shouts "MIDWESTERN" - what a lovely thing.
