LLAP Spock. Leonard Nimoy - March 26, 1931 – February 27, 2015

I am convinced
That if all mankind
Could only gather together
In one circle
Arms on each other's shoulders
And dance, laugh and cry
together
Then much
of the tension and burden
of life
Would fall away
In the knowledge that
We are all children
Needing and wanting
Each other's
Comfort and
Understanding
We are all children
Searching for love

It brought tears to my eyes.

This video of Roosevelt School (re imagined) is especially  nice as I taught here in                   It was one of the best experiences in my life.  The Principal was Tom Berhow and in my estimation he was an example for all principals.  A gentle man who inspired the teachers and students to be the best they could be.  There are good principals and then there were great principals.  Another great principal was Dallas Rust.  She was one who was more friend than colleague - she was not a principal for me but we worked together with the Language Arts program for the Ames Schools and I was so lucky to have worked with her.

Here is the link to the article.

These pictures were taken by Dean Bridges one of my kids and who also had his kids (I suppose they were grand-kids) when I taught at Edwards. I hope he doesn't my stealing them.

Dean identifies this as "Simser's" room.  It was only my room for four years.  But I love the kids I had there. I am glad that they are still in my life.

I wish I had a fireplace like that in my home.

Yes you do!

"I’m not gay, but I’ve never talked publicly about depression before or any of that and that was so much of what the movie was about and it was one of the things that drew me to Alan Turing so much. I think we all feel like weirdos for different reasons. Alan had his share of them and I had my own and that’s what always moved me so much about his story.” - Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore, speaking to Buzzfeed. Moore's "it gets better" acceptance speech led many (including numerous media outlets) to wrongly assume that he is gay.

So many reasons for a person to "feel different" - But there is someone who can you through your valley....I wonder if depression isn't the real reason for suicide. I have never wanted to kill myself but there are certainly times when I have been in the valley of depression.  Fortunately I have been wired to be past it. You will fit in. You do belong and you matter.  This is one of the things about moments like this that makes a difference. And why I watch these awful awards shows.

Molly, Sadie and Cassie on Monday

 Good Morning, Molly here,

It has been quite a week.  Sadie and I took some time to look around the property and we found that things were in good shape.  B G told me that because it was warmer on a couple of days that we are going to have green grass and leaves and nicer weather soon.  We can't wait.

Then B G got us into the car for a drive to Story City to get our toe nails trimmed.  Dr. Bright is always nice to us.  B G also had his toes trimmed this week but we had a different Doctor for him.  Sadie had hers done first.

Then it was my turn.  I was very good.

 Sadie had to supervise.

Then Dr. Brenda looked at my teeth.  They were in good shape.
And always there are treats.  Dr. Bright said that we have to go on a diet so B G is using a smaller scoop.

Then we had a chance to read the "news" and of course we both left our news there for their perusal.

B G took some shots for me.  My Vanity Shots.

This is my close-up for Mr. DeMille.
I don't know why he did it but B G took a couple of pictures of Miss Cassie.
I don't really mind.  She is a good cat...as cats go.

Thanks for stopping by to see us.  WOOF!
