...the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens in giving it on all occasions their effectual support. Geo. Washington Feb. 22, 1732

Toad Tueday

One of my fondest memories was the time(s) which we found a little program which would call us whenever there were northern lights around.  It would usually be in the late evening so we would get in the car and drive out to where we could see them.  We would call my grand aunts (in their 80's) so they could them also.  They were in their night dresses and robes but they would bundle up and go to see the northern lights.

We always liked this display of lights in the sky and we did not see them often.  Usually we would them see when we were at the Lake (Leech Lake) usually while we were paying cards. That would stop the game until we watched the lights.

One time I was at the Drive In Theater and saw lights that were spectacular. Reds and greens I left the movie and called the friends from the lake so they could see them also. Then I drove back the the drive in and watched the lights and the movie simultaneously

I found this video of Northern Lights and I would suggest watching it full screen.

Molly on Monday

 Molly here,
B G took some pictures to show that the green looks better than the dead brown we had. The buds are forming in the trees also.

The lilac bushes are budding faster than the other ones.
The is the way I take my walks.  I go down to the bottom of the ramp and I out for Bunny but he isn't around much.

B G says that I look good with my honey colored coat with the green as a carpet.
 I love my back yard.

I did not it like it much on Sunday.  It started raining and there was THUNDER! B G, climbed up on his lap and covered me up to hide.

You can see that the picture show crummy weather.
I did not come out of the house (even to go potty) all day.  He says I have a super bladder.  When B G was in the hospital I had to wait for 12 hours to get the potty but I never made an accident once.

Later we got another storm and I found a new place to hide.  This is B G's shower and I is a good spot.

B G wanted me to share this picture.  He says that Brandon will wash the porch with his power washer soon.

Thanks for coming to see me.  Woof!

Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness
and tenderness of our heart.

Rumi

The main practice of all major religions is love and to defend it against obstacles we need tolerance and forgiveness. Consequently, all major religions talk about compassion, tolerance, contentment, and self-discipline. The teachers of our various traditions have been realistic in their advice. Because self-centredness often leads to greed, they all advise cultivating contentment and simplicity in our lives.

All things share the same breath - the beast, the tree, the man... The air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.

Grieve in places that the world does not forgive. Rejoice in places the world does not notice. Live with a patience that culture cannot sustain, and with a hope that the world cannot imagine.

Love generates love.

Let's trade in all our judging for appreciating.

Let's lay down our righteousness and just be together.

Character of a Freemason

"The real Freemason is distinguished from the rest of mankind by the uniform unrestrained rectitude of his conduct. Other men are honest in the fear of the punishment which the law might inflict; they are religious in expectation of being rewarded, or in dread of the devil, in the next world. A Freemason would be just if there were no laws, human or divine, except those which are written in his heart by the finger of his Creator. In every climate, under every system of religion, he is the same. He kneels before the universal throne of God, in gratitude for the blessings he has received, and in humble solicitation for his future protection. He venerates the good men of all religions. He disturbs not the religion of others. He restrains his passions, because they cannot be indulged without injuring his neighbor or himself. He gives no offense, because he does not choose to be offended. He contracts no debts which he is not certain that he can discharge, because he is honest upon principle."

Found For Friday

A man walks into a bar. He sits down next to another man and on the bar in front of him there is a guy who is a foot tall playing a little piano.
"Where did he come from?" said the first man.
"There is a genie out back granting everyone one wish," says the other guy.
So the man goes into the back alley and sure enough there is a genie.
"I'll grant you one wish," says the genie.
So the man says, "Ok, I wish for a million
bucks."
At first nothing happens. Seconds later a duck walks into the alley,
then another one, then another. Then ducks just start pouring into
the alley from every entrance, they come from over top the
building, they come from everywhere. The man freaks out and runs
back inside and sits down next to the other man.
"I think that genie is a little hard of hearing," he says. "I wished
for a million bucks and he gave me a million ducks."
And the other man says,"I know. Do you really think I wished for a 12 inch pianist?"

Today my wife said. "Can you fix that gutter downpipe?"

Well, I'm retired so I invited some of my mates over to help.
One brought his welder.
It took us about 4 hours and 30 beers but we got the downpipe fixed and my welder mate gave
it an artistic flair.
My wife is speechless...  Lol
I can’t wait for it to rain again!
