An invitation is being extended to you to join the Governor of Connecticut, Dannel Malloy, and the residents of Connecticut in observance of a moment of silence on Friday, December 21st at 9:30 AM ET.  As the world mourns the loss of these lives, we thought it fitting that we join this moment of silence for the families of Newtown.

Feel free to share this invitation as widely as possible. If the country comes to a halt for a moment or two on Friday morning, so much the better.

Trolls

I am sorry, I had to put the Word Verification back on the Blog.  I was getting way to many Spam comments with people wanting to sell things or direct you to a porn site.  And frankly I got tired of having to delete the posts and read the crap they were sending.  I know the two word verification is a pain so if you want to comment directly to me you can send me an e-mail at Jaycoles@gmail.com and I will post it for you.  jay

In for Repairs.

My computer is acting up so I am taking it to see Troy (Magic Computer Man).  It may have to go to the Computer Hospital for awhile in order to get out of this mess.  In the meantime you can entertain yourselves by visiting the links on the right or by reading a book.  Who knows it could just be an out patient sort of thing and control will be returned to me soonest.  I will still be able to read and send e-mail from my magic phone.  Hugs  j

Where is Found For Friday?

My practice is to get the post ready and schedule it and it posts automatically at 7:00 AM. I did that. There were some good jokes on there. Once it is ready I delete the jokes from my holding documents. I did that also. Unfortunately Blogger decided to do maintenance (so they say) and the document scheduled and a couple of posts that were already up there disappeared. Unless they come back from the nether world you will just have to entertain yourselves this week. Sorry about that,

AND They have been found and posted Enjoy.

Sorry Folks

I have always had Comment Verification enabled for the blog because I felt like it. I have now enable word verification for it also because I have been getting about 5 comments a day which are Spam and trying to advertise porn or sex drugs. I don't like it so hopefully this step will stop it from happening. Sorry folks,

This just in

Dom says that "Thursday night you can listen in at www.bsu.edu/ipr

Unfortunately he did not give me a time so your guess is as good as mine. (I found the poster on their web site Click on it to go to the Web Site.)Addendum again: Dom says: You rock! I posted the time on the blog, but now I realize it might not make sense. The poster says 7:30, but that’s to get the audience in their seats, explain what will happen, etc. The live broadcast begins at 8 eastern 7 p.m. Iowa time.

Ball St. recreating 'War of the Worlds' broadcast

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Ball State University is preparing to recreate Orson Welles' 1938 broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" that sparked panic among some listeners who thought Earth was being invaded by aliens.
Indiana Public Radio General Manager Marcus Jackman says Thursday night's live broadcast -- 70 years after Welles' broadcast -- will be a treat for attentive, creative listeners.
Organizers says it's safe to assume no one will be fooled by the actors' performance into thinking that Martians are invading the Earth.
A Ball State professor will lead a pre-broadcast discussion about Welles' broadcast version of H.G. Wells' science fiction tale, and the fear it sparked.
The production is a partnership between Indiana Public Radio and Ball State's telecommunications department.

From Brother Colby.

Please lend him any support that you can. Thanks, j

Hello everybody,

I will be participating in Polar Bear Plunge this year. It is an event the Greeks at ISU put on every spring that raises money for the Special Olympics that are held in Ames. If you would like to help me raise money for the event please visit this website

http://www.firstgiving.com/colbymoorberg

What we do is raise funds for the Special Olympics. When we have raised enough everyone dresses up in really goofy costumes and jumps into Lake Laverne (the pond on ISU’s campus) on the first Saturday of April. I would be pleased with your generosity in this fundraisor.

Thanks,
Colby
