Mending The Sacred Hoop

This is a new web site which announces the movie about how the Sacred Hoop was broken when Native American Children were taken from their homes and forced culturized in schools (prisons) to "re-educate" them.  I recommend you visit the site and then bookmark and keep in touch with what is happening with this project.

Recommended Reading

Once again I recommend that you go to Forks Off The Moment to read an outstanding post.  I saw this man and his dog on David Letterman.  I was impressed with the story.  Dianne was inspired to go further and write about it so I recommend that you go read about Tuesday and his human.

Charlotte's writing on the Death of Osama bin Laden

Charlotte Ashlock always impressed me with her writing when she was in my class in sixth grade.  She is still writing and this piece is on her blog.  It moved me and she has done a wonderful job of putting the events of the last decade in perspective.  Especially the reactions to the news Sunday evening.  Click here to read The Price of Vengeance is the Blood of Innocence

"The price of vengeance is the blood of innocents, and though we drink it until it sickens us, we hunger for it again, and yet again.   We have short memories.  We do not learn from history.  How can we, when even history does not know how many we have killed?"

Spunky Gets A Home

Friend and Brother Colby and his wife Stacy foster Beagles. This is Spunky who now has a forever home. You can read Spunky's story by clicking here. I really admire them for doing this. I am afraid that I would be unable to give them up once I had them around. It is going to be ultra difficult when Jon moves and takes Miles away. And then Bailey is 15 and really I don't know how much longer he will be around. Anyway go read Spunky's Story and tell Colby and Stacy Hi.
