Funniest thing I have seen all year

Miles on Monday

Miles is living with his owner, Jon, so the opportunity for pictures is less than it was.  However last week Jon messaged this photo to me.  He wrote:  "For a full sized dog he has some child like qualities.  Pulling a blanket out from the back of his pen and then getting distracted with a squeeker toy."

That is true.  He does love his blankie..

 I really messed up this year as far as pictures are concerned.  Only two came out.  The one above of the Banquet and the one below of our new Knight Companion presenting the ladies pin to his wife.

Things seemed to conspire to throw roadblocks at me most of the morning.  I had done well up until that time getting the papers printed that I needed to (even though the directories turned out to be wrong) and I had had a great time at Specialis Procer Lodge the night before. I had started out for Lodge and ran into one of those slow downs where the traffic was backed up to almost a standstill.  Fortunately I was able to turn off the Interstate and took the back route though Polk City and across the big lake which is always a nice way to go.  After Lodge we went out to Gino's for dinner and I came home tired and ready to sleep.  Then I was awakened after dozing off to find my nephew giving Miles a bath.. Seems Miles had decided to use their toilet brush for a chew toy and Jon brought him over to wash the "cooties" off from him.

Jon is doing at internship teaching science at Ames High School and he enjoys talking about the experience.  I enjoy his tales...(not so much when I have been asleep because it takes a few minutes to pull my consciousness out of the deep dark place I go whilst asleep.)  He is like most College Students.  I can remember my mother telling me I would never be as smart as I was then when I came back from college   expressed my opinions to her.  I try not to do that with Jon but I am thinking it some of the time.  (He doesn't read this blog so I am not worried.)  

Then on Saturday I could relax until it was time to put on the Tux.  I had put the links and studs on the shirt before I put it on to save time. But I had put them on backwards and so I had to take them out and start all over again.  Have I ever mentioned how much I hate putting on a Tux?   

Well I started off and wanted to run by the Credit Union to pick up some change so I turned to go there and they were closed.  (It had taken me too long to put the Tux on. good thing everybody had the correct change or a check.)  Next it was to Flowerama to pick up the flowers....They are on the opposite side of the street and when I turned to get to them I discovered the TRAFFIC. ... It was Game Day. Home game and a lot of people were driving around Ames.. I had to go through the intersection and try to turn at the alley.  But would any of the self-absorbed asshole drivers notice that I was in the left turn lane trying to turn - of course not.  I wound up having to go further and turn into the gas station. Then it was a block west and back to the main road where I was able to finally get into the Flower store and pick up the flowers and then through Mickey D's to get a sandwich and swing though Staples to purchase a stapler  - I had two of them but could not find them anywhere.  (I will not take pictures of my office to show you)  

On the way to Des Moines I snarfed my sandwich and spoke on the phone with Kurt's friend who is going to help me find a new car. 

Got there and got everything unloaded and took it in and got set up to collect money, etc. I had a great time but I was pretty busy and I forgot to get the camera out.  I will say this that the chair they have for the secretary is the most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat in.  By the end of the day both my back and my hips were hurting and aching.  The one I sat in for dinner was not much better.  However it did keep me awake.

I came home about 8:40 and got out of the damn Tux and Bailey let me hold him for about an hour and cuddle.  He has been letting me do that lately and I love it.  There was a time when he would not let me hold him but now he seems to draw comfort from being held and I love doing it.  Cassie joined us.  It was a great time but there was no time for blogging other that the things which did not require much work.  Thanks for stopping by and Hugs and hope for you and yours.
