Found For Friday
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.Well, for example, the other day, my wife Betty and I went into town and visited a shop.
When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.
We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man,how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an a**hole. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires.
So Betty called him a sh*t head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.
Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home.
We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.
It's important at our age.

Throwback Thursday
These are two pictures of the"H" tree which was found several miles south of Story City along the Skunk River.
The first picture is my Great Aunt Ethyl Meeker.
The tree is gone now but another planting in Story City has done to recreate the "H" tree. I shall have to drive around to Story City to see what it looks like Click to look at the article.

Rabbit Rabbit/Toad Tales

Today I had doctor's appointments in the morning and in the afternoon. And then it decided to rain. And I don't mean just rain. The heavens decided to open up and it was difficult to drive. Then I had to go to the Credit Union because they changed the bank and they screwed up my debit card and so I have to work for 7 to 10 before the new one will come. So I will use my credit card and have them pay it off immediately so I don't have to interest. Molly has been really unhappy with the rain, thunder and lightning but I love that it is 64 degrees and nice out so I have nothing to complain about. Today is my sister's birthday so I am sending her some birthday flowers and wishes.. The Calm After the Storm - Photos by Bob Kelly
The ferocity of the storm that passed through Ames in the afternoon of June 30, had become a thing of the past by sundown north west of Gilbert. The rolling black skies gave way to lovely pastels, and the roaring wind diminished to a calm as I gazed at barns, a corn crib, and incorporated flooded fields into some photos creating reflecting lakes. It was a beautiful kind of twilight time of peace, calm, and beauty!
