The ferocity of the storm that passed through Ames in the afternoon of June 30, had become a thing of the past by sundown north west of Gilbert. The rolling black skies gave way to lovely pastels, and the roaring wind diminished to a calm as I gazed at barns, a corn crib, and incorporated flooded fields into some photos creating reflecting lakes. It was a beautiful kind of twilight time of peace, calm, and beauty!
