"...after the example of the bee, extract the honey of every sect." Thomas Jefferson

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me.

~ Erma Bombeck

"Noble is the man who, in the midst of his joy, weeps for those who are suffering. Noble too is the man who, in the midst of his sorrows, sings a song with the joyful hearts. The more a man shares in the feelings of others, the more noble he is" + Pope Shenouda +

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

~ Leo Buscaglia PhD (March 31, 1924 – June 12, 1998)
If you wish to be a mine of jewels, open the deep ocean within your heart.

"Be still, and know that I am God." -- Psalm 46:10

All is known in the sacredness of silence.

~Paramahansa Yogananda
 “In the end, just three things matter: How well we have lived;
how well we have loved;
how well we have learned to let go.”
― Jack Kornfield
When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

~ Helen Keller
The happiness of love is in action; its test is what one is willing to do for others.
~ Lew Wallace
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”

Found For Friday

We had a power outage Sunday and my PC, TV and games console shut down immediately.
It was raining (pouring, actually).  I couldn’t go play golf, go sailing,  nothing.   So I talked to my wife for about an hour and a half.

She seems like a nice person

.
A biologist, a chemist, and a statistician are out hunting. The biologist shoots at a deer and misses 5ft to the left, the chemist takes a shot and misses 5ft to the right, the statistician yells “We got ‘em!”
Some of these are repeats. And they are typed in all caps but I am using them anyway.

1. ONE TEQUILA, TWO  TEQUILA, THREE TEQUILA, FLOOR.

2. ATHEISM IS A  NON-PROPHET ORGANIZATION.

 3. IF MAN EVOLVED FROM  MONKEYS AND APES, WHY DO WE STILL HAVE MONKEYS AND  APES?

4. THE MAIN REASON THAT  SANTA IS SO JOLLY IS BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHERE ALL THE BAD GIRLS  LIVE.

 5. I WENT TO A BOOKSTORE  AND ASKED THE SALESWOMAN, "WHERE'S THE SELF- HELP SECTION?"  SHE SAID IF SHE TOLD ME, IT WOULD DEFEAT THE  PURPOSE.

 6. WHAT IF THERE WERE NO  HYPOTHETICAL QUESTIONS?

 7. IF A DEAF CHILD SIGNS  SWEAR WORDS, DOES HIS MOTHER WASH HIS HANDS WITH  SOAP?

8. IF SOMEONE WITH  MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES THREATENS TO KILL HIMSELF, IS IT  CONSIDERED A HOSTAGE SITUATION?

 9. IS THERE ANOTHER WORD  FOR SYNONYM?

   10. WHERE DO FOREST  RANGERS GO TO "GET AWAY FROM IT ALL?"

 11. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN  YOU SEE AN ENDANGERED ANIMAL EATING AN ENDANGERED  PLANT?
(to be continued)
With my new diet I now eat Oatmeal for breakfast.
Ant thanks to John K for most of today and all of his many MEME's especially about the Oatmeals he has supplied me for the Blog. I really appreciate them. Have a great week-end.  The trees are going to be great this week.

Knight Commander Court of Honour Investiture

Like an annoying flea

"In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroÊŠl/, /ˈtrÉ’l/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people..."   Wikipedia has a lot more about them here.

I seem to have picked one up.  For some time now an annoying person has tried to place comments on the blog which are just really nasty.  Comments which are generally negative and critical.  Comments on this blog are moderated and so they do not make it to the blog.  The reason for that is so that I can control the content.  There are a lot of Spammers out there and I keep them off also. If I did not have that I would have comments like "I like your blog come visit mine." with a link to a site selling something.

But this guy just likes to make critical comments.  If he were to ask a legitimate question I would answer it but his questions are disguised negative remarks and as to my Disclaimer policy (you can see it on the tab above) I don't have to let them in. So I don't.

I used to use this as a place to vent and put up negative crap (no other word for it) now I try to be more positive and I put the negative crap on a private blog with no one allowed to read it but me.  If I put it there I can forget about it. And since I haven't posted there since May 21st things must be going pretty well. I used to put up Editorial Cartoons, etc. but a Blogfriend pointed out how negative most of them were and how upsetting they could be so now Sunday's are more upbeat - I hope you like those.  I must be doing something right because about 300 of you stop by every day.

Comments are welcome as are questions but they have to be real questions and not just snark disguised as a question and comments of a positive nature are always welcome.  As I said it is my Blog, my rules, If you don't like them G W go somewhere else... I won't miss you.

One of my former students little brother just graduated from U of I and he was in the Drum Line there.  Now he is in New York City a Drumline Instructor at Berean Community & Family Life Center and a Drumline Performer at Gallant Entertainment, Inc.

What is a Drumline, you say?  He posted this video.  These

performers are wonderful.

       Enjoy,

Oh, and don't be a Troll.
I have been given advice about my Troll. G W this is for you.
