Aerial Spraying Acrobatics! Photos by Bob Kelly

Flying an aerial spray plane is dangerous work! The pilots make it look so easy, but there is much to think about particularly as you pull up and cross over wires and poles going over 100 mph! It was a fun challenge for this photographer, and all ended well.... for the pilot, the photographer, and ultimately also for the more productive corn crop when it is harvested.

Hump Day

 So today I go to Boone for a Home Board Meeting.  I seem to have misplaced (lost, left behind) my walking stick (I am not saying cane) so I will have to replace it.  Tuesday I went to the Clinic to have an ultra sound.  Picture below:

You can tell, I am not pregnant. I wasn't worried.  It appears that there isn't a blood clot either. So there seems to be no reason for my leg to be swelling up. It bugs me but I will continue to blame the steroid I was on for awhile and hope that it goes away soon.  I am regaining strength and it is easier to do things but still not up to par.  I guess it is part of being 69. I am not going to dwell on it.

It is nice to get out of the house once in awhile but in the meantime I get to read and watch movies and provide a lap for Cassie.

Cause of DC Earthquake

I have discovered the cause of the DC Earthquake.  I wrote to my Lodge Brother and Friend Colby Moorberg who lives in North Carolina and told him to watch out for the Hurricane that is headed their way.  In one of his responses to me he wrote:

Patina and Character in Barns and People! Photos by Bob Kelly

I have come to realize that many of the old barns I see around the countryside and also photograph are in a way reminding me of people that are getting older like some of us are.  Barns and people have their patina that change through the years, and the structure may not be as sturdy as it once was, but it still is imposing and has dignity.  Barns and people are reminders of what was and we wonder what they will be in the future.  So the next time you see an old barn along the roadside ponder for a few seconds about its dignity, its purpose, and what it has and may still be providing us.
