Iowa Roadsides by Bob Kelly

Roadside colors are constantly changing during the spring, summer, and fall.  Right now the predominate color you will find is yellow, in the form of Black Eyed Susans, Goldenrod, and several other yellow flowers that resemble sunflowers, but are something else!  A bit earlier there were purple heath like flowers, white Hoary Vervain and white wild Morning Glory.  If you are lucky you may still find the brilliant purple-blue Giant Blue Lobelias.   For the last course, a natural sweet desert in the form of Wild Plums, and you bet I ate some and they were delicious!!
