Toad Tales

This is from The Good News Network.

With no way to outrun a raging wildfire, a dog dug a deep hole to hide her nine puppies from the smoke and flames. Then she buried herself under a metal container to ride out the blaze.
The wildfire near Valparaiso, Chile, had burned for days, driving thousands from their homes. Video shows firefighters battling walls of bright orange and yellow flame sweeping up hills and across a countryside covered in dry brush.
As firefighters brought the flames under control, local residents began telling them about seeing a dog leading a litter of small puppies away from the fire. It set off a frantic search leading to the hole were the puppies, just two weeks old, were buried.
Fire workers spent almost an hour retrieving the pups from the deep hole. And in the end, all nine were pulled to safety —  healthy and uninjured in the fire.
At the same time, rescuers dug and coaxed the mother out of her shelter to reunite her with her pups.
The story of the heroic dog and her puppies has become a bright spot in Chile’s hot, dry fire season.
The dog has a new name, “Blackey,” and the family of strays now has a long list of people clamoring to give them new homes.

Molly on Monday

Molly here,

I have been busy.  I was interested in finding some videos but had trouble finding what I wanted.

B G likes Junior Bulldog.  Usually they sing a song and Junior sings along.
But here they are teaching him to speak languages.  I think he is silly.  They live in Germany.

The throws are a mess.  B G needs to wash them and clean things up a bit.

B G threw most of the flowers out and he says that he going to throw the rest out soon.  They have been pretty for a long time.

Sadie and I  are friends, but sometimes we play rough.  B G took a movie.

Miss Cassie has to hide in the corner when we play rough.

Sadie and I love having our pictures taken.

B G took pictures of the moon the other night.  It was onlsy a half moon but we like it.  It is hard to take a picture through the glass.

He got one sort of good one.  We had a good week.  B G says that maybe he will take us for a ride and look for the Green.  Have a good week.  Woof!

Transformational Truth 4: Carlos Castaneda
Loving this world, seeing the beauty in everything.
Appreciating every moment as a beautiful, wholly contained,
pearl of eternal nature, this is the world to me.
A never ending string of pearls…. every moment is in and of it’s self a life time,
and when we have affection and let ourselves experience life without expectation…
that is when the majesty of the world opens her petals to us…
And welcomes us home.
~ Carlos Castaneda

“We are made for goodness. We are made for love. We are made for friendliness. We are made for togetherness. We are made for all of the beautiful things that you and I know. We are made to tell the world that there are no outsiders. All are welcome: black, white, red, yellow, rich, poor, educated, not educated, male, female, gay, straight, all, all, all. We all belong to this family, this human family, God's family. do your little bit of good wherever you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
― Desmond Tutu

"As we grow in our consciousness, there will be more compassion and more love, and then the barriers between people, between religions, between nations will begin to fall. Yes, we have to beat down the separateness."
- Ram Dass: an American spiritual teacher

"In the end only 3 things matter: How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you."
-Buddha

"Kindness has a beautiful way of reaching down into a weary heart and making it shine like the rising sun."

"Everything you want is on the other side of fear."
-Jack Canfield: an American author, and motivational speaker

"Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country."
- Anais Nin

Christianity is, I believe, about expanded life, heightened consciousness and achieving a new humanity. It is not about closed minds, supernatural interventions, a fallen creation, guilt, original sin or divine rescue. I am tired of seeing the Bible being used, as it has been throughout history, to legitimize slavery and segregation, to subdue women, to punish homosexuals, to justify war and to oppose family planning and birth control. That is a travesty which must be challenged and changed.  -  Bishop John Shelby Spong

Found For Friday

An elderly couple was having dinner one evening when the
Husband reached across the table, took his wife's hand in his and said, "Martha, soon we will be married 50 years, and there's something I have to know.
In all of these 50 years, have you ever been unfaithful to me?"
Martha replied, "Well Henry, I have to be honest with you."Yes, I've been unfaithful to you three times during these 50 years, but always for a good reason."
Henry was obviously hurt by his wife's confession, but said, "I never suspected. "Can you tell me what you mean by 'good reasons?'"
Martha replied, "The first time was shortly after we were married, and we were about to lose our little house because we couldn't pay the mortgage. Do you remember that one evening I went to see the banker and the next day he notified you that the loan would be extended?"
Henry recalled the visit to the banker and said, "I can forgive you for that. You saved our home, but what about the second time?"
Martha asked, "And do you remember when you were so sick, but we didn't have the money to pay for the heart surgery you needed? Well, I went to see your doctor one night and, if you recall, he did the surgery at no charge."
"I recall that," said Henry. "And you did it to save my life, so of course I can forgive you for that. Now tell me about the third time."
"All right," Martha said. "So, do you remember when you ran for president of your golf club, and you needed 73 more votes?"
