Lunar Eclipse 10-8-14 - Photos by Bob Kelly

It was a beautiful sight this morning between 4 and 6 AM. In the first shot the earth's shadow is covering all but a sliver of the moon. In the second photo, the reddish glow is coming from the sun blasting red light over earth and reflecting on the moon. The last photo shows about 99% totality, with a bit of glow to the upper left. The exposure for a shot like this is complicated, tricky, and always problematic, but considering all, it a good image of a lovely astronomical moment! Hope you may have seen it as well, if not here it is!

Alas it rained here; no moon for me.
