Throwback Thursday

My grandmother had this quilt.  I had it for a long time and I decided that my sister should have it as she was the quilter of the family. 
Our Great-great-grandmother Elvira Rossman sewed this quilt in 1887. Ginny said she looks at this quilt and wonders what she was like, why she chose to sew what she did. She did find her obituary and plans to search for more information before donating it to the Ames Historical Society.
