| This is my great aunt. Miss Erma Simser. She taught and was a librarian in Whittier, California. After retiring she traveled many places and she wrote letters to me (and always made sure that I would correct mine to her for errors in them.) |

Nick and Ora Simser - My great-grandparents in the Simsr line. The Simser's were United Empire loyalists. They changed their name from Slimer to Simser and moved from the colonies to Canada. My family returned to the States and Nick went prospecting for gold. This is a gold nugget which my great-aunt made into a necklace (and put a small diamond in it). Eventually he settled in Nevada, Iowa. I believe he was a blacksmith. |
