Inquiring minds want to know

In a discussion in one of my nephew's college classes yesterday the following was overheard:

A student asked the professor"
"If a man marries another man in Iowa where same-sex marriage is legal, moves to Nebraska where it is not legal and marries a woman and then moves back to Iowa, would he be guilty of bigamy?"

I don't believe the issue was ever resolved.

Beyond question he'd be guilty of stupidity.

Beyond the stupidity argument, and we all know that there are lots of stupid things that are not illegal, nor should they be, why should polygamy, or even group marriages be illegal. Not that I would want any part of one. Despite claims to the contrary, I am not that stupid. Seems to me that every divorce lawyer in the country would be in favor of that. Just think how complicated (and frequent)that sort of a separation would become.
