The Compeling Vision of Old and Stalwart Barns - Photos by Bob Kelly

Images such as these have been posted here before, however these are new photos shot a few days ago around around the area NE of Williams, Iowa. I call the barns and other similar old structures, "Sentinels of Time," that stand there through the many decades, in all kinds of weather, and remain even after the farmers who used them no long live on the property. They lean, they have cracks, they become victims of winds, but yet they hang on, remaining an icon of Iowa's rich agricultural history. Turn off the concrete and asphalt roadways and go a ten miles or more in any direction, and you will find them there waiting to be noticed by you. Do so, even for a few reflective minutes…..it will be good for you !
