 Saddened to hear of the passing of the eternally lovely Roberta Peters, who shone at the The Metropolitan Opera for decades, her bell-clear soprano delighting audiences in more than 500 performances there. She was the welcoming face of opera in America, with countless television appearances in the early days of that medium, and her solid technique made her a model of vocal health and longevity-
