Sunday

Truly, it is in the darkness that one finds the Light, so when we are in sorrow, then this Light is nearest of all to us.
~Meister Eckhart

It is often difficult to judge how our actions and their impact on the environment are likely to affect others. What is clear is that we are the only species with the power to destroy the earth. Birds and insects have no such power, nor does any other mammal. And yet if we have the capacity to destroy the earth, we also have the capacity to protect it. I believe we have an urgent responsibility to do so.
Dalai Lama

“Christianity's goal is not escape from this world. It loves this world and seeks to change it for the better.”
Marcus Borg

“Smile at strangers and you just might change a life.”
― Steve Maraboli

"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition."
-Martha Washington

“Create a life that feels good on the inside, not just one that looks good on the outside.”
-Unknown

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”
Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds

The quote about Christianity and the world raised my eyebrows; in my experience few Christians think about the world as more than a stepping stone and hardly worth cultivating.
