The Royal Guards - Photos by Bob Kelly from his trip to England

There are many Royal Guards in London and the UK who stand post at various Palaces. This panoramic scene shows the band and guards approaching Buckingham Palace as hundreds look on. This is a daily highlight tourists flock to see around 11:00 AM each morning.

The Queen's Household Calvary, also known as the Queen's Life Guard come to the palace each day on beautiful black horses which add to the pageantry.
This portion of the Royal Guards uses the Horse Guards complex as their base of operation along Whitehall Road.  Two mounted guards stand their watch there every day.

A contingent of Grenadier Guards march into position at the Tower of London, where they stand guard over the Royal Jewels.

While visiting Windsor Castle, which is where the Queen lives most of the time, a Grenadier guard band, and the guard unit marched through the streets of the city of Windsor, creating a colorful and exciting spectacle.

At his guard post at Windsor Castle, this guard stands at attention.

Bonus picture - Bob shared this on Facebook.  I think it is an outstanding photo of Windsor Castle so I stole it from there and added it to this post. I think it looks like a fine painting and I would certainly hang it in my home.
