This 'n That
I really don't have time to do much blogging this week. I am going to Des Moines to help out in the Scottish Rite Office while Don is on vacation. I am glad to be doing it and it is fun but it cuts my time from my usual activities. I have been home so much lately that I have almost forgotten what it is like to go out.
I am still suffering from the after effects of the medicine that I was on that caused muscle weakness and soreness but hopefully it will get better.
Over the week-end I went to see Thor and I enjoyed it. I grew up with comic books. In fact, I credit being a good reader to starting out with reading comics. I did not read any Thor comics but this movie is based on a comic book and it sort of felt that way, but the acting was good and the graphics were well done and I enjoyed it.
Below is the counter I captured off the blog. I think the number 180,000 is an awesome number. Thanks for stopping by Hugs, j
The other day I was watching a show on PBS. It was on the Stonewall "riots" and it got me to thinking about where the prejudice about homosexuality may have come from. Conservatives may simply be living what they were taught as children. In the video they showed New York Policemen going to local schools and describing homosexuals as vile, degenerate, horrible people who were out to convert every child to being homosexual. That definition was drilled into their psyche and set them on a path where they could not accept gay people as human. To me that may have been the source of the problem and they have carried their awful prejudices forward since that time. There may be absolutely no validity to this idea but when I heard the poison which was being indoctrinated into the students in school it just seemed to me that may have been where the prejudice came from.
Finally here is a picture I found on the Web. The Donald is just not someone I will watch or care about but I did like this poster. Again Thanks for coming by. Hugs, j
