Started Another - This 'n that.

I finished The Lost Throne this afternoon and have now started Sword of God.  I think I liked Throne the best of all those I have read so far.  I have also ordered the rest of his books so by the time I finish Sword and The Prophecy the rest of them should be here.

In the meantime I haven't been out of the house.  That will change tomorrow as I have Eastern Star tomorrow night.  I also have to pick up the new battery which I ordered for my camera.  The old one was not holding a charge so now I will have a fresh one.

General Hospital - I am having a love hate relationship with the show.  There are parts of it that I am really enjoying and other parts (Sonny and Kate) that turn me off.  I do not see why people like the character of Sonny.  He has been written so negative that I am just fast forwarding through his parts. -  Actually I could give up the show without much effort.  But I used to watch it and discuss it with my mother as she was also a fan so I hold on to it.

I did not watch the Stupor Brawl.  Could not care less.  Found a Blog that summed up my feelings exactly.  Over at The Reaction there is a post entitled Bread and Circuses.  The first paragraph reads:

"So, I'm led to understand that last night, one group of talentless millionaires defeated another group of even less-talented millionaires, thus earning hundreds of millions of dollars for a cartel of socialist-billionaires. Even deeper irony is that the entire nation stopped for four hours (or more) to watch this spectacle, which included "entertainment" by yet another passel of millionaires on a broadcast that featured hundreds of millions of dollars spent not on improving the country, but on trying to segregate your pocket, green from white."
Oh yes - Margaret and Helen have a great post about pink razors and they really lay it on the line about the Breast Cancer Brohaha and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.  Worth your time to go read.

That is about it.  Enjoy your Tuesday.  Hugs, j

Did you read the Salon.com article about labor unions as a social movement linked in the Bread and Circuses story? I'm curious of your opinion about it as a former teacher's contract negotiater!
