Sunset variations on a theme - Photos by Bob Kelly

Mother nature painted a gorgeous sky to the South West about 5:00 PM CST tonight.  I should have gotten out in the country about ten minutes earlier as the blue-grey streaks were pink as I was racing to get into position.  These three images capture the essence of the sunset all within a few minutes, and with changes of focal length and camera placement.  You are looking toward the tiny village of Napier, Iowa located about five miles South West of Ames.   Chances are if you go outside to the South West around 5:00 on Tuesday, Mother Nature may just have painted something for you!!
