Something Yummy for Saturday



Yankee Corn Sticks (Submitted by Frances Cole Dawson)






1-1/3cups   Flour
2/3  cup     Cornmeal
2     tsp      Baking powder
½    tsp      Salt
3     T      Sugar
1             Egg
2/3cup    Cream style corn
1   cup    Milk
1 T          Cooking oil
Procedure
1   Sift dry ingredients
2   Combine egg, corn, milk,and oil.
3   Beat well- add to dry ingredients.
4   Stir just to moisten. (Do not heat).
5   Fill well greased corn stick pans 2/3 full.
6   Bake:  425°

7   May bake in muffin pans or cake pans.





Ambrosia Cake (Submitted by Jean Cole Bates)

1                Yellow cake mix
2                 Eggs
½ cup          Water
1  small can Mandarin Oranges, drained
½ cup        Cooking oil.
                 TOPPING
1 8 oz. carton      Cool Whip
1 3 oz .pkg.         Instant vanilla pudding
1 small can Crushed pineapple, undrained
Procedure
1   In mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients.
2   Grease 9 x 13 pan.
3   Pour cake batter in cake pan.
4   Bake: 350°, 25 - 30 minutes.
5   Cool.
6   In a medium bowl, combine topping ingredients.
7   Spread on cake.
Yield: 9 x 13
