The very different barn, not old, but creatively designed is east of Stratford, looked interesting framed with the woven wire in front of it. The horse and buggy on the side of a white barn, was yet another example of fun rural Iowa folk art.

Rural Scenes NW of Ames, IA- Photos by Bob Kelly
The age of the Farm Bureau sign attests to the age of the farmstead, as does the small original farm house. Across the road an unused mailbox came open, and an enterprising robin made it a home. Seeing the three "robin egg blue" eggs was a wonderful surprise. I enjoyed seeing the reflection of an old barn in a mud puddle, that my grandsons would have enjoyed using for splashing!
