Something Good for Saturday


Hot Buttered Punch
"I first made this for a Pier 1 Imports Christmas party I had at at our duplex in 1987 in Littleton, Colorado. It is great on a cold winter night." Ginny
¾  cup    Brown sugar
4   cups  Water
¼  tsp    Salt
¼  tsp    Nutmeg
½  tsp    Cinnamon
½  tsp    Allspice
1   quart       Pineapple juice
¾  tsp          Cloves
2   1 lb. can  Jellied cranberry sauce, broken up with a fork
                   Cinnamon sticks
                   Butter
Procedure
1   In a slow cooker or kettle on stove combine: all the ingredients.
2   Cover and heat 3 -4 hours on low.
3   Serve hot in mugs with cinnamon sticks.
4   Dot with butter.
Yield: 3 quarts

Hot Chocolate, "Spikes
1   oz  Vodka, vanilla flavored
¾  oz  Amaretto liqueur
1  T   Instant hot chocolate mix
4  oz   Hot milk, NOT boiled

Procedure
1   Mix: vodka, amaretto, and hot chocolate mix in mug.
2   Add hot milk.
3   Stir and enjoy.
Yield: 1 cup

Here is another Hot Buttered Rum Punch that John sent me. HOT BUTTERED RUM PUNCH
Ingredients
• ½ cup butter, softened
• ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
• ½ teaspoon ground cloves
• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
• 3 ½ cups boiling water
• 1 ¼ cups spiced rum
• Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Preparation
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring until smooth. Cover and chill
until ready to serve.
2. To serve, combine butter mixture, boiling water, and rum in a small punch bowl,
stirring until butter mixture melts. Serve warm with cinnamon-stick stirrers, if
desired.
