Something Yummy for Saturday

Addendum... John sent this after seeing today's recipes...Thank you sir.
Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

1   cup  Oatmeal, uncooked
½  cup  Shortening
2          Eggs
½  cup  Cocoa
½  tsp   Salt
  cups   Boiling water
  cups   Sugar
1     cup    Flour
1     tsp     Flour
1     tsp     Vanilla
Procedure
1   Grease and flour pan.
2   Mix oatmeal in boiling water.
3   Cool.
4   In a large bowl cream shortening and sugar and eggs.
5   Add Oatmeal mixture, flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and vanilla.
6   Pour into pan.
7   Bake.
Yield: 9" x 13"
Oven Temperature: 350°F
Cooking Time: 35 minutes

Oatmeal drops.
3     cups   Quick cooking oatmeal
1/3  cup    Chunky peanut butter
1     tsp     Vanilla
1     tsp     Salt
1   cup    Butter
2   cups  Sugar
½  cup    Milk
3   T      Cocoa
Procedure
1   In large bowl, pour oatmeal.
2   In large saucepan, combine all the ingredients EXCEPT Quick cooking oatmeal.
3   Bring to a boil.
4   Boil only ONE MINUTE.
5   Pour at once over oatmeal.
6   Mix well.
7   Drop by tablespoonfuls on waxed paper.

Chocolate Chip Cookies, "Mrs. Fields"

You will need a very large mixing bowl for this recipe.
2  cups   Butter
2  cups   Brown sugar
2  cups   Sugar
2  tsp     Vanilla
4           Eggs
1  cup    Hershey candy bar, grated. Freeze before grating or 2 bags Chocolate chips
4  cups   Flour Jan used 2 cups of white flour and 2 cups of wheat flour
1  tsp     Salt
2  tsp     Baking powder
2  tsp     Baking soda
5  cups   Oatmeal
             Nuts, chopped
Procedure
1   Grease cookie sheets.
2   In large bowl, cream together: butter and sugars.
3   In a small bowl, beat together eggs and vanilla.
4   Add to creamed mixture.
5   Add remaining ingredients.
6   Bake. "Cookies won't look done".
Oven Temperature: 375°F
Cooking Time: 6 minutes
