Access for kids who have preexisting conditions, who would be against that? But access for adults, who have done nothing to take care of themselves, who actually will have as I’ve just described every incentive not to get insurance until the day that you know that you’re going to have medical expenses, that’s, that’s a very different kind of story.
I wonder if abysmal ignorance is a "pre-existing condition?"

the argument you deserve to suffer "because your illness is the result of your poor self care" can easily be extended to just about any person and any medical illness.
Just about every patient i have ever had could be applied to this approach.
