A government that doesn't fund the arts and intellectual culture, enthusiastically and with fearless aplomb, is a pathetic government indeed. NRP's funding is about $5 million, which is the federal equivalent of a penny. It's what we spend in Iraq every 10 minutes. It's also about what Newt Gingrich spends in divorce attorney fees in a month.
