Saturday

The sky was overcast today. On my way to Des Moines I asked myself why was I going to go to a Reception. The answer was that I was going to help honor one of the finest Masons I know. I wrote about David a year ago, Tonight his Commandery (Temple Commandery #4) honored him with a reception marking his ascension to the Grand Commander's Office of the Grand Commandery of Iowa.

It was held in the Tapestry Lounge of the Des Moines Consistory Building. One of my favorite places.

There were a lot of Sir Knights and their Ladies there to honor this deserving Mason. David is a hard worker. He works for the Lodge, the York Rite and the Scottish Rite and he does a lot to keep the organizatons moving.

The Grand Commander of Iowa

I had to take this picture. Jim is usually camera shy but when his lovely lady is along I get to take a picture.

My favorite part of the buffet. I love the Roast Beef.

Great food.

David and Family enjoying a video tribute to him.

David's Daugher's gave a very moving tibute to their dad.

The four heads of the York Rite Bodies of Iowa. Yes, Grand Lodge is considered as a York Rite Body. Actually Jack won't be installed until next Friday night but I could not resist taking the picture when all four of them were together.

All of the pictures of tonight's event can be found at an on line album here.
