Technicolor Pond - Photo by Bob Kelly

This is the same pond west of Ames as shown in a previous post, but at a different time, different date, different light, and creating better wowies! If you are watching a sunset, just remember that the show is not over until about a half hour after the sun had dropped below the horizon, as you get these lovely glowing shades of pink, yellow, orange and gold that are often spectacular. When you combine that with the reflection of water the effect is twice as good! Such a deal! Enjoy
Windmill - Semi Sunset

This photo was taken within minutes of the "Technicolor Pond" image, as the sun was going down, and working it's magic all around the sky. This shot is taken looking south, not west! I had photographed this view earlier and was not pleased with the results, but in a few minutes, after the sun had dropped, the glow was showing in the entire 360 degrees of sky! It was worth swatting the mosquitoes to get this shot!
