Snow Beauty, Sunday, March 4,, 2012 - Photos and Text by Bob Kelly

It is Iowa high school state basketball tournament season right now, and of course we cannot go through that two week period without snow or often a significantly paralyzing snow storm.  This snow was soft, fluffy, and beautiful, and totaled about four inches.  By mid afternoon it was calm and nature's artistry was evident everywhere.   A blanket of snow, in addition to making ordinary things beautiful, also provides an excellent sound absorption blanket.  When I walked around my block on Sunday afternoon there was an abundance of quiet and soft muted sounds of the city, due to the snow.  It was a wonderful way to spend about an hour, and here are three shots that spoke to me.  Enjoy!
