Sunday

...there is one thing I think all Christians, including me, should remember -- no, should practice (and we should practice this between ourselves first, too) -- and that is the one simple thing Jesus once said would be the one-and-only thing the world would know us by...
Not our beliefs.
Not our doctrines.
Not our denomination's distinctions.
Not even our declarations.
Jesus said, "They will know you are my disciples by your love" (John 13:35).
When we love, what more needs to be said?

“Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.”

-Fyodor Dostoyevsky
“Be kind to people whether they deserve your kindness or not. If your kindness reaches the deserving good for you if your kindness reaches the undeserving take joy in your compassion.”

~James Fadiman in Essential Sufism
