The Discovery of Vivian Maier

I was reading some blogs this afternoon and one that I read had the following story and video on it.  When you watch this (and please do watch it) think about this woman who was a nanny "like Mary Poppins" who created magic with a camera. She evidently did not have many friends but she took some beautiful photographs of the people on the street.  It takes less than ten minutes but it is well worth your time  Oh yes, click on the bottom right corner to watch it full screen.(right under the ID on Video)  Beautiful pictures.

Vivian Maier was a Chicago-area nanny from the 1950s to the 1990s; she died in 2009. Shortly following her death, tens of thousands of negatives were discovered among her possessions. The families who employed her seemingly never knew much about her, but it appears that Ms. Maier spent nearly all of her time off exploring Chicago with a camera. And now, after her death, people are calling her "one of the greatest street photographers of the 20th century."
