When I was in Egypt in 1976 the Egyptian people were warm, loving and delightful to be with. They were very pleased to have us there and opened their homes and hearts to us. This makes me sad that they have to try and change their repressive government this way. Is this what the Tea Party want in America? Go here to read the story. Cairo in Flames

I'm not so sure this is a bad thing. Mubarek may be our friend, but he's also a ruthless dictator. Nor, I believe, does he single-handedly define "Egypt." The Egyptian people, in my experience, are exactly as you describe, and I believe they have the right, as do we, to choose for themselves those who govern them. Time will tell... We live in unsettled times. The US walks a tightrope, having supported a dictator for three decades, and to the tune of billions of dollars. One thing is certain: there will be reform of some sort in Egypt. One way or another.
Alas, I do not the history/reference to put Egypt's current matters into perspective.
