Miles on Monday

Nothing special today.  Just some snaps of him wanting to eat my ice cream cone and the cat, of course escaping from him by sitting on the couch.

Please let me have a bite.  Please, please, please.

He is so beautiful.   I am lucky that he shares my home.

He does, however have this problem.  Jon bought him a toy.  It had a tennis ball (purple) with a hole in it and a leather strap surrounded with some (purple) fuzzy stuff.  He had the ball off from the strap in less than five minutes. The ball has disappeared and he has dugged the fuzzy off.  Empty plastic coke bottles seem to be the toys that last the longest.  Anyway you can see he does do a number on toys.  At least it does not have fibre fill in it.

Have a good week and thanks for starting your week with Miles on Monday.  Hugs,  j

Dogs eat anything!

Our youngest Border Collie has similar destructive habits. We cope with this in three ways.

We buy single piece tuggy toys made of thick, knotted rope. We only allow her to play with these only when we are holding on to the other end and put it out of reach after playing. They last about a month before the knots are pulled off. But, be careful, even my wife, who is half your age, ends up with pulled shoulder muscles after a particularly ferocious tugging session.

In England you can buy dog toys made of a tough, shiny material. Dogs find it difficult to break into these as their teeth slip off the material.

With standard dog toys we let her pull the stuffing out. We find she is just as happy to carry the limp, de-stuffed bodies around and some of these poor toys have lasted years.
