Asian Gardens in Des Moines, IA - Photos by Bob Kelly

The Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens, are prominently placed along the east side of the Des Moines River, in downtown Des Moines, just between the Pedestrian Bridge (in the background), and the Botanical Center which would be behind or north of the Asian Gardens.  The pagoda is exquisitely made, with white marble statues and railings, and ceramic tiles for its distinctive roof.  There are plantings, a small foot path, some special rocks with Asian character writing on them, and a lovely series of waterfalls beneath the pagoda.  It is quiet and serene, particularly on an early Saturday morning, and worth the effort to be there.  Enjoy!
