Grand Master's Area Education Meeting

I went to the Grand Master's Area Education Meeting in Des Moines. Before that Kurt and I went out to eat at Chef's Kitchen and at noon I had lunch with John at Audubon's. Two meals today. Both of them delicious but the best part was I did not have to eat alone.
Kurt received his Ashlar Award from Grand Master Jack Butler.
Steve Hall picked up an award for Acanthus Lodge at the meeting. Steve is the Senior Warden ot Acanthus and will be Master next year. He is the man behind Abiff Apparel which is linked on the left. If you need a shirt or a jacket or a hat go there and help a Brother with his business. Good quality and great designs.
An atentive intersted group of Masonic leaders appreciated the information received at the meeting.
One of the things which was shown to us was the Rock Solid Leadership film from Simple Truths. You can watch it by clicking here.

Grand Master Butler told us about three exciting events to be held in 2009 and asked us to put them on our calendars. March 30 a Re-Obligation Night and asked us to wear our White Lambskin Aprons which were presented to us at our intitation into Freemasonry.

The second event is the Leadership Seminar to be held in Ames June 12 - 14 and finally September 12 a Tailgate party in Ames at the ISU/Uof I football game. They are already on the Lodge Calendar.

He stressed that we are not just a member of a group but a MASON. And that we are Masons 24/7. Masonry is the guiding force in our lives.

They finished with another inspirational movie 212 degrees. You can view it here. We have been challenged to raise more money for Hope Lodge and to participate in the Guardian Angel Program. We were also asked to collect books for Hope Lodge and get them to Lodge Service Committee members to share our leadership by visiting lodges and there were a lot of awards passed out. All in all today was a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, j
