What would you do?

The Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74.

The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September.

OK folks that only adds up to $124,488.37 short about $25,511.63. Either way I think there were better places the money could have gone. In fact the amount of money spent on this election is just obscene. (my opinion) - That, by the way would have taken me about 5 years to make as a public school teacher and the government would have taken taxes out of it before I got it.
Addendum:

The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.
That's a lot of lipstick.

My question is if you had that kind of money to spend what would you spend it on? Put your answer in the comments. I will publish all of them.

I think that's terrible. I doubt that has ever had to be done for any other candidate!

If I had that money, I'd pay debts and set up college funds for my grandchildren.

Still I wonder how much the men spend on their wardrobe - is it comparible?
