A Busy Masonic Day

Today was a cold rainy day in Iowa but an eventful one for your blogger.
First was a trip to Des Moines to attend a meeting of the Eastern Star Masonic Home Board. Administrator Denny Bock and Board President Dorothy Barton are shown here. Denny gave us his annual report on the home.
Dorothy, Darlene Shepherd, PGM and Claudia Fischer members of the Home Board.
Ruth Stein sat in on our meeting. She served on the Board for 5 years. Driving once a month to Boone from Burlington, Iowa where she lives. She is shown here with her son Loren who I got to know through DeMolay work. He was also here for a meeting at Eastern Star Grand Chapter which is meeting at the Mariott hotel in Des Moines.

Dorothy Hinders and Chris Bryan members of Laura Chapter in Ames. Chris is a dual member with a Chapter in South Dakota and just finished her term as Worthy Grand Matron of South Dakota.
The Grand Chapter Room is ready and wating for the activity.
Some of the Decor at the restaurant where we had lunch.
Then this evening I met the Brothers of Specialis Procer Lodge at the Fuji Restaurant here in Ames for a Festive Board of the Lodge. We had a great time at this new Japanese Restaurant.
Brother Justin Dodge and his wife Andrea and their friend Shane were also dining at Fuji tonight. It was great to bump into them.

Two of the entree's - Delicious.

The Brothers ate and then went to Fredrick's Motel for a discussion of our By-laws and Customs of the Lodge. It was a great discussion and once again makes me proud to be a part of this exciting Masonic adventure.

Thanks for stopping by, Hugs, j

All that reminds me of the days when my parents were very active in the Masons,Eastern Star, Demolay and Rainbow. Good times! I am still friends with a girl who was in my chapter of Rainbow Girls (in the 50's); we email every day.

Kurt - I love what we have in Specialis Procer. See you tomorrow.
