Once again, Gen. Powell has demonstrated why he is so admired by thoughtful people of all political stripes. He is one of the few remaining American statesmen of stature.
Of course I agree with his decision, but that's not the point.
The REASONS he used to make this choice are so well-formed and so clearly articulated that he is immediately a welcome antidote to the rhetorical dyspepsia and even venom of recent political discourse.
I hope the people who cheer Gov. Palin's disgusting and irrelevant vitriol will watch this interview, and learn the meaning of the word "statesmanship."
