More Iowa Americana - Bob Kelly Photos

The fruited plains of Iowa have never looked more beautiful, with ample rain, lots of warm weather, and pleasant winds, the soybeans and corn fields hold promise of bumper crops.  The classic Iowa red barns have never looked more lovely next to the lush green fields.

One finds very few wheat fields in Iowa, but I found one today that called to me.  Its beautiful amber waves were a study in contrasts and close detail.

Even the roadsides are putting on a display with no assistance from farmers, relying only on Mother Nature for their care.  This photo shows a smorgasbord of colors from the blues of the Blue Flax, the yellows of the Sweet Clover, mixed in with seed heads of reddish brown Bromegrass.  It is a very nice time of year to get OFF the major highways, let your car get dusty, and explore the graveled country roads.  Doing so will reward you wish images such as these posted today.  Enjoy!
