Birds and Sunset Glow - Bob Kelly Photos

This little Black Capped Chickadee has a tasty green worm in his beak, ready to deliver his fresh produce to an eager chick tucked away in the hollow of a dead tree.A Rose Breasted Grosbeak stopped by the top of my Pin Oak tree a few days ago late one evening, to sample some dried flowers still remaining. He was just passing through and did not like my cuisine, and I have not seen him since! This bird has a beak like a Cardinal, and is about as big as a fat Robin, black and white with that distinctive rose red breast in front
Sunset glow on that lovely pond on the west edge of Ames, along highway 30.
The same sun and sky a few minutes later produced this lovely farm glow
of barns and silos
