Five Woodland Early Bloomers - Photos by Bob Kelly

While others will follow this week, with warmer weather, you can find these wildflowers on woodland hillsides. These photos were taken along the west edge of Inez Grove Park near the shelter house just east of Duff Avenue.

Dutchmen's Breeches

Hepatica

 May Apples

(so called because they have a white flower that forms in April, and makes an apple like fruit in May).  This year I suspect the fruit will be here in mid April!

Rue Anemone

(the hillsides of may woodland areas are specked white with this plant which grows well!)

You know it is spring when you see Dutchman's britches.
