Solar Eclipse, Iowa farm style! Photo by Bob Kelly

This photo was taken about 15 miles north west of Story City today during the big sky show.  For techies out there here are the specifics of the image:

Time Taken                              8:23 PM
Camera                                  Nikon D2X
ISO                                             100
Lens                                            600 mm, hand held with vibration reduction
Shutter                                 1/3200
 Aperature                              F/ 11
Exposure Compensation           -5.0

The few minutes during which I shot this exposure were the most dramatic for me, as the sun became more reddish due to dust in the atmosphere at that low angle.  The dust and evening moisture in the air dimmed down the sun intensity and made it easier to capture.  The farm silos just stood by and watched the ordeal, adding some interest to the photo along with the dead tree and the corn crib!  Enjoy!

This is an amazing picture! You should blow it up and frame it! Nothing more beautiful than an Iowa farm!
