York Rite - Des Moines

I went to Des Moines to the York Rite Meeting and Christmas Observance this evening. Kurt is working on the Scottish Rite Library. He is cataloging it and putting the catalog in the computer for an eventual on-line card catalog. It is a big job but needs to be done. He has already found some "treasurers" including pictures from the cornerstone laying for the building.

We had the meeting in the Library which has recently been rearranged and is going to be fixed up and will be a very nice place to study or hold a small meeting. Part of the meeting was the election of officers and new officers were elected.

Kurt and Lyssa were on my left at dinner and "Bud" Erickson was on the right. Bud is a Past Grand Master and for about 25 years he has headed up the Jerry Marsengill Christmas Dinner in Des Moines. I will be working at the dinner again this year. I did it last year and it was probably one of the most rewarding thing I did all last year. It is a great way to spend Christmas. It is a free dinner for anyone who wants to come and folks who can't come can call and request that a dinner or multiple dinners be delivered.

Natalie took my camera and took a picture or two of me. I will print this one Cause it is not too bad. You can see that both "Bud" and I are shining examples. Isn't it nice how the top of our heads reflect the light. I am wearing a Gordon Clan (dress tartan) tie.

I returned the favor and took a picture of Bryce and Natalie. Bryce also works with Bud on the Jerry Marsengill Dinner.

You can see that there was a good crowd at the dinner and a great dinner and social time was had by all.

I certainly enjoyed myself. Thanks for stopping by and Big Hugs. Storm coming tomorrow so I went to Costco and stocked up on food and I got some Drambouie.
