Artistry in Ice/The Eagle Has Landed

When a weed gets frozen in ice, it creates a sculpture. When moisture in a snow bank melts from the underside it leaves a potato chip thin layer of ice on top, supported by grasses, weeds, and cornstalks, and creates artistry in ice.

This time the Eagle landed, not on the moon, but along the Des Moines River near Fraser, just NW of Boone. I would have preferred a clear body shot without sticks in the way, but no such luck. Still he posed very regally there for me on this lovely Sunday afternoon. Enjoy!
