Real peace is not something that is imposed upon us. It is not something that comes from the absence of strife or war. Real peace is something that comes from within our being and we receive it when we are in touch with and in harmony with the Universe and its Deity. It enables us to go through our daily life on an even keel and not to allow disharmony to enter into our being.
Real peace is Love exemplified in health, harmony, kindness to ourselves and to others and it is in all of our power to grasp it and live it. Real Peace can radiate from our being like the ripples in a pond when a pebble is tossed into it. Going ever outward and allowing others to see our peace and harmony and in many cases leads them to that same place.
My great aunt Kate Mike was one of those people. Her home radiated peace and she always hummed a little tune just under her breath. Most often it was "I had a dream dear, you had one two. Mine was the best because it was of you." Her home was an island of peace and harmony to a little boy who went there for lunch from grade school and on most Wednesday nights as he was growing up. I had several wonderful great-aunts and a large loving family. I was indeed a lucky child.
"May the peace of God, which passes all understanding abide with you now and forever more."
