This Week

Come, behold the works of the Lord; See what desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire. "Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.'

Psalm 46: 8 - 10
Judaism & Christianity

He it is Who send down peace of reassurance into the hearts of the believers that thy might add faith unto their faith. Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Knower, Wise.

The meaning of the Glorious Quran 48:4
Islam

These two quotes are from the chapter called Peace. But when you talk about the desolations of the Lord does that mean "peace" - Was there peace for the folks in Parkersburg last year with the tornadoes? The folks who lost everything to the floods? What about the people of Iraq? Where is the peace of reassurance for all of the people who suffer the tragedy of disease and the long slow death which it brings?

We all know people who have such a strong faith that these things have no effect on them. They are so attuned to God (good) that no evil seems to befall them. They live in a world which the winds of trouble cannot disturb. They are not necessarily the church goers. Church goers are often those who have the least amount of faith. They go to church for reassurance that things are as they should be. They need a preacher or a priest to connect them with God.

The truly God-connected have real peace. They know that no matter what the outward physical appearance of things the spiritual is always connected to God and draws true peace from that connection. They exalt God and are at peace with the seeming outward appearance of things because they "know God" personally intimately and that knowing is what brings real peace.

Have a blessed, peaceful week.
